Selection Process For BPSC Lower Division Clerk LDC Recruitment 2025

For any level of examination, if there are less than 40,000 (forty thousand) applications after scrutiny, then the preliminary examination will not be conducted normally. If more than 40 thousand applications are received, then the examinations will be conducted in two phases, in which the first phase will be of preliminary examination and the second phase will be of main examination. Both preliminary and main examination will be objective and multiple choice. Preliminary Examination- In the preliminary examination, one paper will be of general knowledge, which will have the following subjects:-

(a) General study questions will be 50.
(b) General science and mathematics questions will be 50.
(c) Mental Ability Test (Comprehension/Logic/Reasoning/Mental Ability)-

Number of questions will be 50. The questions will be objective and multiple choice. 4 marks are allotted for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and 15 minutes. The medium of language in the preliminary examination will be Hindi/English. If there is any difference in the Hindi and English question papers, only the English questions will be accepted. The preliminary examination will be conducted with books. Only one book will be allowed for each section. Candidates can take a maximum of three books with them to the examination hall

(1) one for general knowledge
(ii) one for mathematics and
(iii) one for general science. Only text books of N.C.E.R.T/B.S.E.B/I.C.S.E and other boards will be accepted as books. Guides related to any subject, photocopies of any book or handwritten notes will not be allowed to be taken to the examination hall. Before entering the examination hall, candidates must clearly write their name and roll number on the eligible book. Exchange of books in the examination hall is completely prohibited. Apart from books, carrying any type of electronic equipment in the examination hall will be prohibited.

Note:- (i) There will be no provision for change and correction in the name of the candidate, father’s name, mother’s name, gender, Aadhaar number and date of birth filled in the order of OTR.

BPSC LDC Exam Pattern 2025

If a large number of applications are received, the preliminary exam will be conducted in multiple stages. The preliminary exam will be an open-book exam. Candidates can bring only one book for each subject, General Knowledge, Mathematics and General Science (maximum 3 books). Only NCERT, BSEB, ICSE or other recognized board textbooks are allowed. The preliminary exam will consist of one paper on General Knowledge, consisting of three subjects: General Knowledge, Mathematics and General Science Each correct answer will carry 4 marks. 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The duration of the exam is 2 hours 15 minutes.

On the basis of Preliminary Examination, candidates approximately 5 times the number of vacancies will be called for Main Examination.

Candidates who qualify the Main Written Examination (based on category wise cut-off) will be called for Typing and Computer Test.

The typing test will be conducted in MS Word.
